Michael Rooker, a longtime collaborator of James Gunn and known for roles in Guardians of the Galaxy and The Walking Dead, is in PEACEMAKER Season 2, and he’s cast as Red St. Wild. The reveal came through Entertainment Weekly’s Summer Preview; he’s an expert eagle hunter, and he’s gunning for Eagly. Here’s your first look.

That’s right — Peacemaker’s feathered best friend, who stole hearts and scenes in Season 1, now has a personal nemesis.
James Gunn didn’t hold back when teasing the character. “His name is Red St. Wild, and he’s on a mission to kill Eagly,” he said. “We thought Eagly was probably the most popular character from Season 1, so in Season 2, he has his own story with his nemesis — played by none other than the despicable Michael Rooker.”
It’s the kind of bizarre twist that totally fits Peacemaker’s tone equal parts funny, absurd, and genuinely high-stakes. A first look at Rooker in costume has already been released, showing off the intense, gritty vibe of his new role.
Though this is Rooker’s first live-action appearance in the DC Universe, he’s no stranger to it. He already voiced two characters in upcoming DC projects Sam Fitzgibbon, a neo-Nazi in Creature Commandos, and a Kryptonian robot named “Five” in Superman, which hits theaters this July.
Bringing Rooker into Peacemaker only adds to the show’s already chaotic charm. Whether Red St. Wild turns out to be a serious threat or just more mayhem in Peacemaker’s world, one thing’s for sure — Eagly’s going to have his wings full.
Peacemaker Season 2 premieres August 21, 2025.
