Elizabeth Olsen has officially shut down speculation about her return as Wanda Maximoff, in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Despite ongoing fan theories and hopes for her comeback after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the actress confirmed she is not involved in these upcoming Avengers films.

Fans speculated that Wanda Maximoff would make a comeback in Marvel‘s next multiversal blockbusters after the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), which left her fate up in the air.
Olsen’s most recent comments, however, suggest that she is leaving the superhero genre at least for the time being. Rather, she is working on projects that fit with her artistic interests, like the upcoming FX pilot Seven Sisters and the science fiction drama The Assessment.
“I didn’t realize this until about six years ago, but because Marvel and its influence take up so much physical time and space in the world, it’s really important for me to make choices outside of Marvel that reflect my own taste,” Olsen explained. “Your taste does create the artist that you are, and that wasn’t something I was thinking about when I first started working.”
The Assessment, which is currently in theaters, is set in a dystopian future where childbirth is a privilege granted only to a select few. Olsen stars alongside Himesh Patel and Alicia Vikander in a psychological drama that challenges the concept of parental suitability through an intense seven-day evaluation process.
Despite her departure from Marvel, Olsen hasn’t entirely ruled out a return as Wanda Maximoff in the future. However, with back-to-back productions of Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars gearing up in London, she confirmed she won’t be involved, instead focusing on her upcoming projects.
