John Cena Becomes The Record Breaking 17 Time Champion

Today is a historic day for WWE fans and the company. John Cena has finally won the WWE Championship after eight long years by defeating Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. What makes it even sweeter is that he has now surpassed Ric Flair’s 16-time reign. But the saddest part is, this might be the last time we ever see Cena in a WrestleMania match, as he’s currently on his retirement tour.

Rhodes kicked out of multiple Attitude Adjustments. Cena even locked in the STF, but Cody fought through it. While trying to escape, Cody and Cena accidentally knocked out the referee. Rhodes then hit the Cross Rhodes and got a clear pin, but the ref was still down and couldn’t count it.

Just when it looked like Rhodes had things under control again, out of nowhere, Travis Scott made a grand entrance and tried to slap Cody Rhodes again. But Cody grabbed his hand and hit him with a Cross Rhodes. Cody finally got his payback for what Travis did to him at Elimination Chamber.

The Rock Was Missing?

After all the hype around the team-up between John Cena and The Rock at Elimination Chamber, The Final Boss didn’t make a single appearance after the pay-per-view. Everyone expected him at WrestleMania, but there’s still no sign. He shared a video on Instagram yesterday, and fans are furious in the comment section for not showing up at WrestleMania 41.

John Cena’s Future Opponents

The next pay-per-view is WWE Backlash, and there’s a possibility we could see a match between John Cena and Randy Orton. Nothing is official yet, but it might happen. There are also several other opponents Cena could face before he retires, including CM Punk, Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, and more. The Raw after WrestleMania is expected to be wild, and Cena is set to appear on it.
