Sydney Sweeney is officially playing the lead in the new live-action video game adaptation movie SPLIT FICTION. The project is still in early development.
According to Variety The movie will be directed by Jon M. Chu, best known for directing hits like Crazy Rich Asians and the upcoming Wicked films. The script is being written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the duo behind the Deadpool franchise and Zombieland.
What is Split Fiction About?
Split Fiction is a CO-OP where you control two writers, Zoe Foster and Mio Hudson, each from different genres: sci-fi and fantasy. After a freak accident, they become imprisoned in the world of their stories when they are connected to a machine designed to steal creative ideas.

It’s not confirmed yet who Sydney Sweeney is playing in the movie, but her role is expected to be a major one. Aside from starring in the film, she’ll also be the executive producer.
The movie is being produced by Story Kitchen, the same production company behind the Sonic the Hedgehog movies. With that team on board, there’s hope that Split Fiction will be another successful video game adaptation, balancing humor, heart, and action in a way that appeals to both fans of the game and general audiences.
No release date has been set yet, but the early buzz around the film is strong, and more casting announcements are expected in the coming months.
