First Look at Galactus in Marvel’s Fantastic Four Reboot

We just got our new look at the cosmic threat headed their way. A fresh piece of promo art for The Fantastic Four: First Steps has revealed Ralph Ineson’s version of Galactus, and he looks more comic accurate than ever before.

The image, released as part of a Snapple-branded promotion, shows Galactus towering over the iconic Baxter Building with a retro version of New York City in the background. The promo art’s design and the city’s vibe heavily evoke the 1960s aesthetic, perfectly aligning with the film’s alternate timeline setting.

This version of Galactus has a huge difference from what we saw in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer back in 2007, where he was essentially just a giant space cloud. This time, Marvel is giving us the real deal, complete with his trademark purple-and-blue armor and that unmistakable headpiece.

Director Matt Shakman has said in previous interviews that Galactus won’t just be another CGI-heavy villain. Instead, the production team actually built a physical costume for Ralph Ineson to wear, so the character will have a more grounded, intimidating presence on screen.

Shakman said, “I didn’t want to just use motion-capture for Galactus. I wanted to actually have someone there embodying the part.” He added, “So we’ve built an entire costume for him, and we’ve done a lot of photography testing to figure out: How do you make sure that the scale is correct? How do you film Mount Rushmore?

The movie is Set in a version of the 1960s, First Steps introduces Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. They’ll be going up against not only Galactus, but also the Silver Surfer this time played by Ozark and Inventing Anna star Julia Garner.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
