Spider-Man: Brand New Day is officially set to start filming in August 2025 in the United Kingdom. The movie will be the fourth installment in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man series and will pick up after the events of Avengers: Doomsday.

While the script is under wraps, some interesting hints have started to surface. According to reliable scooper Daniel Richtman, Marvel is currently casting prisoners for the film. This has sparked a lot of fan speculation, especially because the last time we saw a prison scene was at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming, when Adrian Toomes as Vulture and Mac Gargan as Scorpion crossed paths. So it finally means we can finally see scorpion in a major role.

The movie will focus on Peter Parker trying to live a normal life and focusing on college after the chaotic events of Avengers: Doomsday. But, as expected, trouble isn’t far behind. A deadly new threat emerges, forcing Peter to reconsider his decision and step back into the role of Spider-Man. He’ll also find himself teaming up with an unexpected ally to protect the people he loves most.
Sadie Sink has also been cast in Spider-Man: Brand New Day in a mysterious role. Her character is described as a sharp, strong-willed, free-spirited woman with a secretive past. Many fans are already curious about how her character will fit into Peter’s journey.
At CinemaCon 2025, director Destin Daniel Cretton shared a bit about the project, saying, “We’re just nerding out every day over the suit, how to swing, and how to tell a story that feels fresh and emotional. We want to create an event and a ride we haven’t really seen before.”
Tom Holland, returning as Peter Parker, also spoke briefly, teasing that this film will be a “fresh start” for Spider-Man following the cliffhanger ending of No Way Home. Holland kept things vague but promised fans something new and exciting.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. It has a massive production budget of $200 M and is produced by Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Mitch Bell.
The film is scheduled to swing into theaters on July 31, 2026.
