Robert Pattinson Might Be Heading to Arrakis in Dune 3

Dune: Part Two was a huge success with its grand visuals and emotional depth, there’s already talk about what’s next for the epic saga. And now, there’s a new name in the mix that has fans pretty excited—Robert Pattinson.

According to Deadline, Pattinson is being eyed for a major role in Dune: Part Three. While nothing has been confirmed yet, it is being heavily rumored that he could be playing Scytale, a powerful shapeshifter and member of the mysterious Bene Tleilax.

The character is crafty, manipulative, and knows how to hide in plain sight which makes Pattinson a surprisingly great fit. He’s shown time and again that he can slip into complex roles, whether it’s a brooding vampire, a vigilante, or a desperate bank robber. Seeing him go head-to-head with Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides could be something exciting.

Director Denis Villeneuve, who’s already delivered two visually stunning and emotionally rich films, is expected to return for the third installment. And while he’s been quiet about plot details, he’s mentioned before that Dune: Messiah is the final piece of Paul’s story he wants to tell.

The rest of the cast is expected to return, including Zendaya, Florence Pugh, and likely Anya Taylor-Joy, who made her debut in Part Two. Filming is rumored to start in mid-2025, though nothing has been officially confirmed.

Pattinson, of course, already has a packed schedule. He’s set to return for The Batman: Part II and is currently shooting for Christopher Nolan’ most prestigious project The Odyssey. But if everything lines up, seeing him in the Dune universe.
