David Zaslav Reportedly Considering Peter Safran as New Studio Head

David Zaslav is considering some major changes at Warner Bros. He is considering making Peter Safran the new studio chief, replacing Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy.

But why is he thinking about replacing them? It could be due to the studio’s recent struggles at the box office. One of Warner Bros.’ latest releases, Mickey 17, is currently underperforming at the box-office.

Why Peter Safran Would Be Perfect ?

Safran and James Gunn are currently rebuilding the DC Universe from scratch, and they’re doing a great job. Creature Commandos received a positive response from audiences, and up next is Superman, which has massive hype. The film’s trailer even broke records for views on YouTube. Safran’s partnership with Gunn could extend beyond just the DCU, potentially benefiting other Warner Bros. projects as well.

Safran was also the driving force behind Aquaman, Shazam!, and The Conjuring franchise. The common factor among all of them? They all performed exceptionally well at the box office.

While Safran seems like a strong candidate, there are also rumors that Zaslav may launch a broader search for new leadership instead. If that happens, Warner Bros. could bring in an entirely new face to steer the ship.

For now, nothing is official, but one thing is clear—big changes are coming to Warner Bros. The only question is whether Peter Safran will be the one leading the charge.
