Ryan Gosling’s Ghost Rider Movie Reveals New Plot Details and Cast Rumors

Ghost Rider is making his way back to the big screen after almost 16 years. At the 2026 Hall H panel, Kevin Feige announced that Ryan Gosling will be appearing as Ghost Rider in the MCU. But now, we have some plot details about the movie.

Here is the Plot Details Of The Movie:

Johnny Blaze has the perfect life: a wife and two kids, a job at an auto repair shop, and a small-town community that supports him. But Johnny isn’t doing well. He has nightmares about monsters when he sleeps and sees bloody visions when he’s awake. His life is beginning to feel like a prison, and there’s a spirit inside him that’s begging to break free.

Another major rumor surrounding the movie is that Connor Storrie (Heated Rivalry) is in talks to play a major villain role in the film. Sacha Baron Cohen may also appear as Mephisto, a character he was last seen playing in the season finale, “The Past Is the Past,” of the Disney+ series Ironheart.

When will Ghost Rider start filming?

Filming for the movie is scheduled to begin in New York next year, with the film expected to be shot entirely on analog film.

The movie’s writer, Benjamin Percy, has expressed interest in an R-rated horror approach, including graphic body horror and supernatural violence.

Ghost Rider will be directed by Shawn Levy, who previously directed Deadpool & Wolverine, with a screenplay written by Jonathan Tropper (Star Wars: Starfighter). Linus Sandgren (Dune: Part Three) will serve as the cinematographer. The film will be produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Stephen Broussard, Shawn Levy, and Ryan Gosling, with Richie Palmer and Jessie Henderson serving as executive producers.

Ghost Rider is scheduled to hit theaters and IMAX in the United States on July 28, 2028.
