Marvel has officially announced the whole cast of X-Men at D23, along with the new logo for X-Men too. The cast includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, and Maya Boyd as Storm.
While they all joined the stage with Kevin Feige, we had another surprise: Adam Driver joined on screen. He was always rumored to play some character in the MCU, and he has finally joined the cast of X-Men as none other than Nathaniel Essex, aka Mr. Sinister, the human identity associated with the mutant geneticist.
He shared that he and Kevin Feige had been talking for years about him potentially joining the MCU, and that they finally found the perfect project at the right time. He joked that he was excited to play “Mag…” before catching himself and correcting it to Nathaniel Essex, adding that he’d be here waiting for everybody to show up.
So far, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey is the only character introduced in the MCU who played a major part in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Jake Schreier will direct the new X-Men movie, which is set to come after the Multiverse Saga finale, Avengers: Secret Wars. He previously directed Thunderbolts*, later known as The New Avengers. The X-Men film will be written by Lee Sung Jin and Michael Lesslie.
The X-men will release in theaters on May 5, 2028.
