The first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday has finally released online, along with a new synopsis. This trailer was presented to the public and industry insiders at CinemaCon in April. According to some rumors, this trailer was supposed to release on July 25th, but now, as a complete surprise, Marvel has released it today.Watch the trailer below.
Here’s the official new plot synopsis for Avengers: Doomsday:
“Universes collide and the Multiverse Saga begins its final chapter in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday. Beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and ultimately face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered. This epic film will lay the foundation for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
Avengers:Doomsday Trailer Break Down

The trailer wastes no time. In the opening scene, we see Charles Xavier’s school, and we see Charles himself sense the looming threat as a mysterious flash of light appears outside — which is the incursion that’s about to happen. Then we hear Dr. Doom‘s voice, which is completely different from Robert Downey Jr.‘s usual voice, featuring a slight but noticeable accent that could be from some vaguely Eastern European country.
The trailer then shows several scenes that were leaked online, like Gambit fighting Shang-Chi, Yelena fighting Mystique, then a shot of Cyclops about to use his optic blast. Next, we see a scene of the Fantastic Four meeting the New Avengers — this is where we saw it in the Thunderbolts* post-credits scene, which shows their ship arriving at Earth-616. In that scene, there’s also Thor explaining how strong the threat is this time, and in one part of the trailer, Doctor Doom effortlessly catches Thor’s Stormbreaker with his two fingers, establishing just how powerful he is.
And then finally, the biggest surprise — even though we saw in the first glimpse of Avengers: Doomsday that Steve Rogers is back — is at the end, when Chris Evans returns as Steve Rogers, once again proving himself worthy by taking Mjolnir from Thor in a moment that echoes Avengers: Endgame.
Avengers: Doomsday is directed by the Russo Brothers, with a screenplay from their frequent collaborators Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron.
