Highly Anticipated Movies Releasing In August 2026

The month of July is almost over, and it was a packed month with big releases like Odyssey, Evil Dead, and Moana. Next week, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is finally releasing in theaters. But in the month of August, we again have some anticipated movies releasing. Well, even if it’s not as packed as July, the movies look interesting.

1.The End of Oak Street

The End of Oak Street is a science fiction survival film. This will be one of the movies that releases this year on everyone’s bucket list, because this is not your usual Jurassic Park dinosaur kind of story. The movie is directed by David Robert Mitchell, who previously directed movies like Under the Silver Lake and It Follows. Watch the trailer below.

What is The End of Oak Street About?

After a mysterious cosmic event uproots Oak Street from suburbia and transports their neighborhood to a location filled with dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures, a family soon discovers that their survival depends on sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings.

The movie stars Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella, and Christian Convery.

2. Coyote vs. Acme

Coyote vs. Acme is an upcoming American live-action/animated legal comedy film. Finally, after a long delay, Coyote vs. Acme is finally releasing soon. The movie was almost about to be a shelved project, then, after fans started demanding the movie, negotiations began. After several unsuccessful negotiations with various distributors, Ketchup Entertainment acquired the rights for $50 million in March 2025. The movie is directed by Dave Green, written by Samy Burch, from a story by Burch, James Gunn, and Jeremy Slater. Watch the trailer below.

What is Coyote vs. Acme About?

After every product made by the Acme Corporation has backfired on Wile E. Coyote in his pursuit of the Road Runner, down-and-out human billboard attorney Kevin Avery represents Coyote in a lawsuit against Acme. A growing friendship between Coyote and Kevin motivates their determination to win the court case, as it pits them against Buddy Crane, the intimidating boss of Kevin’s former law firm, who now represents Acme.

The movie stars Will Forte, Lana Condor, Tone Bell, and John Cena. and the movie is based on the 1990 The New Yorker magazine article “Coyote v. Acme” by Ian Frazier

3. Insidious: Out of the Further

Insidious: Out of the Further is a supernatural horror movie written and directed by Jacob Chase it is the sequel to Insidious: The Red Door which was released on 2023 and is the sixth installment in the Insidious franchise. Watch the trailer below.

The movie is about Gemma, a young mother living in her childhood home with her daughter, who discovers she can travel into “The Further”. Gemma unlocks a terrifying new ability she can physically pull lost souls and demons from the purgatorial realm into the real world.

This film is different from the usual insidious franchise as Instead of characters accidentally wandering into the spirit world, the spirit world begins invading ours.It stars Amelia Eve, Brandon Perea and Maisie Richardson-Sellers, with Lin Shaye reprising her role from the previous films.

Insidious: Out of the Further will release in theaters on August 21, 2026.
