Rumor: Adam Driver Reportedly Cast as the Villain in the MCU X-Men Reboot

Just days ago, when Marvel was promoting their biggest release of the year, Avengers: Doomsday, Kevin Feige had an interactive session with fans. In it, he also talked about post-Avengers: Secret Wars plans and told everyone they are finally moving on to the X-Men reboot, and Marvel will focus on the Mutant Saga after Avengers: Secret Wars. Now, after that, we finally have some information about the villain in the movie.


According to MyTimeToShineHello, Adam Driver has been cast as the villain of the movie, and he will play Magneto. Previously, he was the top choice to play Reed Richards for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which released last year; however, he got replaced by [the actor] who plays Mr. Fantastic in the movie.


Kevin Feige also said it is his dream to bring the X-Men to the MCU. He called bringing a new version of the X-Men into the MCU “a dream,” saying it’s especially meaningful after starting his career working on the original X-Men films.


The new X-Men reboot movie will be directed by Jake Schreier, who previously directed Thunderbolts*, AKA The New Avengers, released in 2025.

The release date of the movie is not confirmed yet, but most likely it will be released in 2028.
