The war between James Cameron and Marvel is a never-ending battle. Marvel re-releasing Avengers: Endgame, renamed as Avengers: Endgame Encore, made fans pretty excited because it is directly connected to Avengers: Doomsday, which will be releasing in theaters in two months.
So far, Avengers: Endgame stands just behind Avatar, collecting $2.8 billion worldwide, while Avatar has collected $2.9 billion worldwide. When you look at it, there’s really not much of a gap between the two movies. Endgame Encore earned around $87 million worldwide, including $27 million from North America and $60 million from the international market.
The thing about Avengers: Endgame Encore is that the movie has a bunch of extra footage, including a total of four new scenes. The extended ending shows Loki arriving to meet Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter in the past. The first mid-credits scene shows Bruce Banner being ambushed and abducted by Doctor Doom in an underground bunker. The next post-credits scene shows Mobius and O.B. at the TVA witnessing 3,000 ongoing multiversal incursions. And the final post-credits scene reveals that the iconic hammering sound from the original 2019 Endgame credits was actually Doctor Doom forging his armor.
Avengers: Endgame Encore is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The movie features an ensemble cast including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.
